Description

Goat milk soap has quietly outsold almost everything else in natural skincare for a decade, and the reason is chemistry rather than fashion.

Goat milk's natural pH sits unusually close to that of human skin. That is why washing with it doesn't leave the tight, squeaky, faintly uncomfortable feeling harsher soaps do. It brings vitamins A, D and B6 along with naturally occurring lactic acid — the same gentle smoothing agent used across the whole skincare industry, here at a level low enough to use every day without thinking about it.

The bar is soft ivory, faintly sweet, and gives a low creamy lather that rinses clean. No essential oil, no colourant. This is the one to reach for when skin reacts to everything else, or when you're washing a small child, or when skin has thinned with age and no longer tolerates what it used to.

How to use

Lather in wet hands, massage in, rinse. Fine for daily use on face, hands and body. For the face, build the lather in your hands first rather than rubbing the bar directly on skin.

Goat milk, olive oil, coconut oil, vegetable glycerin, sodium hydroxide, water.

How it's made

Cold-processed by hand in Anatolia and cured on wooden racks for several weeks. No heat is applied at any stage, which is what keeps the vitamins, antioxidants and aromatic compounds in the oils intact instead of cooking them away. Each bar is cut by hand from a poured block, so slight differences in size, shade and marbling are normal — that is the method showing, not a fault.

Making it last

Keep the bar on a draining dish and never leave it sitting in water. A cold-process bar that dries out fully between uses lasts two to three times longer.
