Why sulfur
Mineral sulfur has been part of Anatolian bathing tradition for centuries, worked into simple olive oil soap rather than dressed up with fragrance or dye. It is traditionally preferred by people with oily, congested or blemish-prone skin, valued in Anatolian folk practice for its long history in skin care rituals. This bar keeps that tradition at its simplest: olive oil and sulfur, saponified together, with only the lye needed to make soap — no pine resin, no juniper tar, no smoky depth. A traditional anatolian bar
Alongside the laurel, wild pistachio and hammam soaps in the Antioch range, this sulfur bar continues a much older regional habit — working a mineral straight from the earth into a household soap without any fuss. It is made by soap masters in southern Türkiye using the same kettle-and-hand-cut method as the rest of the collection. It carries no laurel oil and no stamp; its identity comes entirely from the two ingredients in its name.

The color is natural
The bar's warm, golden-amber color comes directly from the sulfur and olive oil themselves, not a dye or added pigment. Natural mineral soaps vary slightly in tone from batch to batch depending on the day's saponification, so gentle variation between bars is expected and is the mark of an honest, unblended formula rather than an inconsistency.

How to use
Lather directly on wet skin and rinse thoroughly with warm water. Suitable for face and body. New to sulfur soap? Start every other day and patch-test on the inner forearm first, then build up to daily use as your skin adjusts. Avoid the eye area.

Care
Keep the bar on a dry, draining soap dish between uses rather than sitting in standing water. Kept dry, a hand-cut bar this size lasts significantly longer than a comparable bottle of liquid soap.

Natural variation
Each block is hand-cut, so small differences in shape, surface texture and shade between bars are entirely normal — the signature of a real, small-batch soap rather than a standardized industrial formula. The bar carries no stamp; the knife marks on its surface are the maker's own signature.
